Emmad Kashmiri is a member of the Democratic Party and a career data scientist who was nominated by incoming Squad Leader Jason Pérez and endorsed by outgoing Squad Leader Connor Liang to serve as the Speaker of the great State of New York's Unit 2 in 2020.

Emmad earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science from Brooklyn College. While in college, Emmad was a digital editor for the Brooklyn College Vanguard, a student newspaper.

Emmad's public service includes having been an inspector for the City of New York's Board of Elections and serving as an enumerator for the US Census Bureau.
